Obituary: Loretta DeCubellis
The 100-year-old Bristol resident will be laid to rest Saturday.

Mrs. Loretta E. (Leonard) DeCubellis, 100, of 7 Creek Lane, Bristol, and formerly of Wakefield, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Silver Creek Manor, Bristol.
DeCubellis was the wife of the late John DeCubellis. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Delia (St. Sauveur) Leonard. A resident of Bristol for 34 years, she lived in Wakefield for most of her life. Loretta worked in the housekeeping department for the University of Rhode Island in Kingston for a number of years, retiring in 1977. She was a former textile worker for several years in the former Peacedale mills. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Bristol and a member of the Benjamin Church Manor Tenants Association and the Senior Citizens Center and a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. and her husband Michael J. Rucci, Jr., of Bristol, and Karen A. and her husband Paul J. Erickson, Sr. of Wakefield; four grandchildren, Gina M. Poulos of Narragansett, Carla M. Sweeney of Tiverton, Paul J. Erickson, Jr of Pawtucket and Kevin A. Erickson of Narragansett; three great grandchildren, Christa M. and Todd Poulos of Narragansett and Aidan Sweeney of Tiverton. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Regis Leonard and three sisters, Elizabeth Westcott, Adele DeSalvo and Cordelia Champlin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service Saturday, Oct. 20 at 9 a.m. in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Creek Manor Nursing Home - Patient Activities Fund, 7 Creek Lane, Bristol, RI 02809 or to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914.
