Manuel Gomes, 79, of Woodlawn Ave passed away on January 30 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Victoria dos Santos (Cardoso) Gomes.
Born in Maceira, Leiria, Portugal, he was the son of the late Januario and Maria da Encarnacao Gomes. He was a cabinet maker for C. J. Pearson, 20 years before retiring. He was a member of the Don Luiz Filipe Association, the Lincoln Club and the Warren Soccer Club.
He is survived by his wife Victoria, children, MariaGomes DeCastro of Cranston, Victor Manuel Gomes of Cumberland, and Lori Gomes Valerio of Bristol, grandchildren, Raquel Maria DeCastro, Shawn Manuel DeCastro, Jessica Rose GomesLavoie, Vanessa Marie Gomes, Joseph Peter Valerio, and his only great grandson Andre ManuelCarvalhana. Manuel was the brother of Joaquim "Jack" Gomes of Warren and Maria da EncarnacaoGomes of Portugal. He was the brother of the late Jose, Augusto, Antonio, Januario Gomes and Maria do Rosario Ferreria.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 4th 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High St. with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Church 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Bristol. Calling hours are Monday 4-8 PM.
