OSHA Returns to Water Rower in Warren Today: Investigation in "Infant Stages," Area Director Says
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating a gas explosion inside an oven at the 560 Metacom Ave. business.

WARREN, RI—Investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration today returned to Water Rower, at 560 Metacom Ave.
On Wednesday, Dec. 7, five employees were injured in connected with a gas explosion inside an oven. One suffered facial burns. A second person experienced breathing difficulties, and three others were hurt when they fell leaving the building.
The cause of the explosion was an oven malfunction, according to the Warren Fire Chief Alexander Galinelli.

OSHA was called in around 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

The investigations today conducted interviews with employees, said Patrick Griffin, the OSHA area director for Rhode Island.
"I don't know how the investigation will go," he said and added the inquiry is in its early stages. He predicted there would be no news until after the New Year.
