Fallen Tree Knocks Out Power To 2,500 Bristol Residents

A tree fell on a power line on Hope Street, knocking out power to thousands of Bristol residents.

BRISTOL, RI — A fallen tree knocked out power to approximately 2,500 Bristol residents on Thursday afternoon. Crews were quickly sent to the area and power was restored to all residents by 5 p.m.

National Grid spokesperson Ted Kresse said a tree fell on a wire in Hope Street a little before 2:30 p.m., cutting power to approximately 2,500 residents. By 3:30 p.m., power was restored to more than 2,000 customers, and all power is expected to be restored everywhere by 4:45 p.m.
