Mt. Hope Swim Team Takes Fourth in Division
The Mt. Hope High School swim team finished fourth in the state divisions over the weekend.
Mt. Hope High School swimmers had something to celebrate over the long weekend, being named fourth in their division.
Coach Jonathan Dell said the Division Championship, held at Roger Williams University over the weekend, went great.
In an email, senior swimmer Anette Toms said, "The divisions were awesome and I want to thank everyone for a great year with special thanks to Coach Dell and Coach Duggan. Danny Toms (and I) have loved every second of the 4 years we have been part of the swim team and I know that I will miss not doing this again next year!"

Coach Dell provided the following meet highlights:
- Nick Andreadis hit his best 50 breaststroke ever, dropped 2 seconds on his 100 free and 2 seconds on his 100 breaststroke.
- Jeffrey Briggs dropped another second on his 50 backstroke, 2 seconds on his 200 free, and one second in the 100 back.
- Spencer Dennis dropped 5 seconds in the 200 free.
- Mark Devol dropped 7 seconds in the 200 IM, 1 second on his 100 back, 2 seconds in the 100 free, and took a silver medal with the 200 freestyle relay team.
- Adam Dutra dropped 7 seconds in the 200 free and 2 seconds in the 100 breast.
- CJ Gerhard dropped 22 seconds in the 200 free and hit his best time in the 100 free.
- Chris Kern dropped another 5 second in the 100 fly, 32 seconds in the 500 free, and 2 seconds in the 50 free to help his 200 free relay team take the silver.
- Grant Mattson dropped 3 seconds in the 200 IM and 1 second in his 100 fly.
- Austin Porto dropped 5 seconds in the 500 free and took a silver medal with the 200 freestyle relay team.
- Joe SanMartin hit his best 50 free and dropped 7 seconds on his 100 free.
- Danny Toms dropped 9 seconds in the 500 free and hit his best ever 50 free to help the 200 freestyle relay team take the silver medal.

- Olivia Almeida dropped 2 sec. in the 50 free.
- Angelica Alvarado dropped 9 sec in the 500 free.
- Daisy Alves dropped 2 sec in the 50 free.
- Sophia Andreadis hit her best 200 IM ever, dropped over a second on her 100 breaststroke for a bronze medal, and took silver medals with the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay teams.
- Victoria Bendza dropped 11 seconds in her 200 IM, 3 seconds on her 100 fly and another second on her 100 free.
- Lauren Deschenes dropped 4 seconds on her 100 backstroke.
- Alicia Dugan dropped 5 seconds in her 50 free and 11 seconds on her 100 free.
- Elysha Grant dropped 2 seconds on her 500 free.
- Tori Nunez dropped 7 seconds on her 100 back.
- Brooke Pacheco dropped 1 second in her 50 fly to help her 200 medley relay team take the silver medal, dropped 2 seconds in her 100 fly to take the bronze, broke 30 seconds for the first time ever to help her 200 free relay take the silver and dropped 2 seconds in the 100 breaststroke.
- Olivia Phillips dropped 2 seconds in her 200 IM
- Kiley Quinn hit her best 50 free ever to help her 200 medley relay take the silver medal, dropped another second off her 100 free to take the silver, and took another silver medal with the 200 free relay team.
- Lucy Spence dropped 2 seconds off her 50 back to help her 200 medley relay team take the silver medal and earned another silver with the 200 freestyle relay team.
- Julia Vollaro dropped 11 seconds in her 100 back.
- Jaimee Walsh dropped 3 seconds in her 100 free and another second in her 100 breaststroke.
- Lexi Winnes dropped 2 seconds in her 50 free.
