Photos: RWU Fights Childhood Obesity With Make Moves Campaign

During the final event held on Feb. 29 at at RWU's Campus Recreation Center, more than 50 students from Bristol and Roger Williams University attended the event for healthy snacks and games to celebrate a month of "Making Moves."

The Make Moves campaign was a month-long effort to decrease childhood obesity rates by encouraging Rhode Island's middle school and high school students to push for healthier options in their own schools.

Run by five RWU students, the movement involved weekly visits with high school and middle school groups across the state, a PSA on Rhody Fresh milk cartons and an official proclamation by Governor Chafee, dubbing February "Childhood Obesity Awareness Month" in Rhode Island in honor of the Make Moves campaign.
