Providence Grand Jury: Two East Bay Men Indicted

The interim Providence Grand Jury has indicted a Bristol man and a Warren man for a robbery that happened in Bristol on Jan. 15.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Providence Grand Jury has returned indictments against two suspects in a Bristol robbery, the state Attorney General's office said Thursday. An indictment, information, or complaint is merely an allegation, the Attorney General's office said. The U.S. Constitution guarantees that a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Kiefer McCaughley, 26, of Bristol, and Adam Machado, 25, of Warren, are both being charged with conspiracy and first-degree robbery. The indictments stem form an incident in Bristol that happened around Jan. 15. The defendants conspired to commit robbery and did rob an individual, police allege. The Bristol Police conducted the investigation.

McCaughley and Machado are scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on July 12.
