Seniors Ready to Take on Juniors in Powderpuff Football Game
The Mt. Hope High School juniors and seniors held their final full practice before the big game on Monday night.
On Monday night, girls from the class of 2012 ran drills near the football field at in preparation for what they call their "overdue victory" over the juniors during the Powderpuff Football game on Tuesday night.
"We guarantee a victory," said senior coach Ron Silva, who joked that his team "might let [the juniors] score a touchdown."
Though the seniors have a few threats from the opposing team going into the game, including the sheer size of the junior team, the players are unphased.

"They have a couple of big girls, more than 50 girls on their team and I heard they have a really fast girl, like third in the state," one player said.
"I'm not worried about that, we're going to win," player Kim Mendonca interrupted. "I'm just going to be running up and down the field ripping flags."

The players on the senior team said that the juniors have been trash talking all week, but the seniors have remained quiet.
"We're not feeding in to it," one player said. "We'll get them on the field."
Coach Silva says he is optimistic about the game and is very impressed with the seniors.
"I'm ready impressed with the respect and camaraderie that the team has," Silva said. "It is fun and they really get into it. They had a "

The seniors, running on determination to gain the championship title after their one-point loss last year may be force to reckon with in Tuesday night's game.
The Powderpuff game will be held on the football field at Mt. Hope High School at 7 p.m.
