Town Of Warren Looking To Hire Police, Fire Dispatcher

This vitally important position requires 24-hour schedule flexibility and the ability to handle high-stress situations well.

WARREN, RI — The Town of Warren is looking to hire a new full-time emergency dispatcher. Responsible for keeping things operating smoothly at headquarters, dispatchers must be willing to work flexible shifts and thrive in high-stress situations.

Dispatchers are required to fill multiple roles, with duties including answering emergency and routine calls, dispatching fire and police services in an emergency, greeting the public and some data entry and clerical work. Emergency response never sleeps, meaning all applicants must be willing to work a rotating schedule that includes all hours of the day and night, weekends and holidays.

The ideal candidate will be able to flourish in a high-stress environment, multi-task well and understand how to work a computer. Prior experience as a dispatcher is preferable.

Application packets are available online or in person at the Town Clerk's office at 514 Main St. All applications must be returned to the office by Friday at 4:30 p.m.
