Warren Man Charged with Social Host Violation
Barrington police said the 19-year-old Warren man gave a Barrington 17-year-old alcohol for an underage drinking party in their town.

A 17-year-old Barrington girl and a 19-year-old Warren man are facing a variety of charges in connection with an underage drinking party.
Barrington Police Chief John M. LaCross said that the girl was brought to the police station by her parents on Tuesday after they learned about the alleged drinking the prior Saturday.
The girl reportedly told police that she asked the older male, who has already been graduated from high school to buy alcohol for her and her friends.

The man, identified by police as Samuel R. Reitsma, of 12 School St., Warren, told police that he went to a liquor store in Warren and asked someone to buy the alcohol for him. He did not buy the alcohol himself.
All told, he procured a six pack of Twisted Tea, a bottle of Fireball whiskey and two cans of Four Loco.

Reitsma is being charged with violating the state’s social host laws and will appear in the town’s Municipal Court, LaCross said.
The girl will be appearing before the Juvenile Hearing Board, LaCross said.
“I give credit to the parents who brought her in,” LaCross said. “And she was very forthcoming and cooperative.”
The parents reportedly caught wind of the drinking after someone notified the parents. The girl reportedly got alcohol poisoning from the drinking.
“Her parents wanted to come in and hold her accountable,” LaCross said.
The girl was charged two charges: underage possession of alcohol and underage consumption of alcohol.
