Warren Man Hits Hole-in-One at Montaup Country Club
A Warren resident hit his first ever hole-in-one at Montaup Country Club on Sunday

Most golfers dream of hitting the coveted hole-in-one, and on Sunday, a Warren man had his dream come true on one of the most impressive greens in the East Bay.
Joe Medeiros, 51, of Warren, hit his first ever hole-in-one on the tenth hole at in Portsmouth on Sunday, July 17.
"I've been playing for 11 years," he says. "It's hard but it is amazing when you think about it. You hit a ball from 150 yards away and get it into a small cup."

Medeiros says his teammates were jumping around and slapping high fives after he drove the ball into the hole.
"I didn’t know what to say," he says. "I was pretty amazed. There are guys that play all their life and never get a hole in one. A buddy of mine has been golfing for 35 years and he's still waiting on his hole-in-one."

But according to Terri Betts, the Office Administrator for Montaup, getting a hole-in-one is not as rare as one may think.
"It happens a couple of times a year," Betts admits. "Last month we had three people do it. We just have some really great golfers here."
And Medeiros' reward for his excellent golfing skills?
"I bought everyone a round at the clubhouse to celebrate," he says laughing. "That's just the way it works."
