Warren Police Log: DUIs and Doobies

Warren Police made the following arrests last week:

Heather C. Gately, 36, of 1 Joseph Drive, Warren, was charged with Driving Under the Influence after being pulled over at Main Street and Coomer Avenue. Gately allegedly registered a blood-alcohol content greater than .15. The legal limit in Rhode Island is .08.

James W. Canton Jr., 46, of 15 Mill St., Apt. 2, Warren, was arrested on a 6th District Court Bench Warrant for a charge of driving on a suspended license. Police pulled Canton over at Crescent and Mill streets.

Jeffrey A. Beskid, 41, of 11 Reservoir Ave., Warren, was charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test after being pulled over on Metacom Avenue.

Kevin Paiva, 22, of 36 Rockaway St., East Providence, and Jared Affonso, 18, of 68 Mildred Ave., Swansea, MA, were both arrested for possession of marijuana after police pulled Paiva over on Schoolhouse Road. Paiva was also charged with driving with a controlled substance.

Joseph A. Opielawski, 26, of 88 Kickemuit Road, Apt. 2, Warren, was arrested on a warrent for charges of felony assault with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.
