Warren Police Warn Of National Grid Scam
The scammers are calling residents and claiming they have to pay an overdue bill and provide personal information.
WARREN, RI — Warren police are warning residents to be aware of a reported phone scam. Callers pretending to be National Grid workers are asking for resident's personal information and claiming a bill is overdue.
The calls show up on caller ID as a valid National Grid number, 800-322-3223.
"Be assured it is not coming from National Grid," the department said.

Police reminded residents to never give out personal information over the phone without verifying who is calling. If in doubt, hang up and call the company back directly to verify.
