Woman Hit By Float At Bristol Parade: WJAR-TV Says

A 69-year-old woman from Maine was hit and dragged by a float at the Fourth of July parade. She was in the parade walking with the float.

BRISTOL, RI — A 69-year-old woman from Maine was hit and dragged by a float at the Fourth of July parade. According to police Capt. Brian Burke, the woman was part of the parade and was walking alongside the float. He did not specify the organization, but said she was associated with it. He confirmed WJAR-TV's report, saying the woman appeared to have cuts and scrapes as a result of the accident.

"At last check, she was still in the hospital," he said, but the injuries are reported to be minor.
