4 Charged With Scheming To Smuggle Drugs Into Central Falls Federal Jail

PROVIDENCE, RI — Two former inmates, a former Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility counselor and a Massachusetts woman were indicted on federal charges of scheming to smuggle drugs into the federal jail, the U.S. Attorney's said.

Adrina Hamrick Cannnon, 51, of Cranston, Randy "Fresh" Diaz-Pizarro, of Boston, Jaquori "Gizzle" Lyons, 28, of Boston, and Bernice Carvalho, 25, of Boston, were all charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of a controlled substance, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a media release.

Hamrick Cannon and Carvalho were also charged with providing contraband to an inmate and Diaz-Pizzaro and Lyons were also charged with obtaining contraband as an inmate, according to the release.

"According to charging documents, on dates between June 25, 2024 and July 10, 2025, while Diaz-Pizarro and Lyons were inmates at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Center, Hamrick Cannon and Carvalho did provide and Diaz-Pizarro and Lyons did receive pieces of paper containing a detectable amount of MDMB-4en-PINACA, a Schedule I controlled substance," the release said.

MDMB-4en-PINACA is a "novel synthetic cannabinoid," according to the Center for Forensic Science Research & Education.

"Diaz-Pizarro and Lyons were inmates at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Center on the dates of the alleged offense conduct because each of them had been detained in federal cases that had been charged in the District of Massachusetts," the release said.

Diaz-Pizarro was charged with drug and firearm offenses, according to the release, and Lyons, also known as "Tottie Y Gizzle," faced drug, firearm and conspiracy charges.

Diaz-Pizarro pleaded guilty in his case and Lyons is awaiting trial, per the release.
