4. Girls flag football to become RIIL sport this spring (independentri.com) — Central Falls High is among 16 schools that have committed to launching girls varsity flag football when the Rhode Island Interscholastic League debuts the sport in spring 2027. The unanimous vote makes Rhode Island the first New England state to sanction girls flag football, with support from Nike and the NFL helping schools get started.
