• Charlestown's Cross' Mills fire barn is demolished after court decision (thewesterlysun.com) — Charlestown's former Cross' Mills fire barn has now been demolished, clearing the way for a planned memorial park despite a resident's unsuccessful court bid to stop the project. Local fire officials are using $100,000 in district funds while they wait for $610,000 in delayed federal HUD money, and say the town supports turning the deteriorated, long-abandoned station into open public space overlooking Perry Pond.
