GFWC Women’s Club of South County Hosts Successful Third Annual “Bottles in the Bungalow”

The GFWC Women’s Club of South County welcomed a sold-out crowd on May 13 for its third annual beverage tasting event, “Bottles in the Bungalow,” held at the historic Kinney
Bungalow. The evening brought together community members, local businesses, and supporters for a night of tasting, entertainment, and philanthropy benefiting the club’s
ongoing community service initiatives.

Guests enjoyed a curated selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from eleven local vendors featuring wines, brews, ciders, and botanical mocktails. Entertainment for the evening was provided by the “Take It To The Bridge Duo,” creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere throughout the event.

The event’s signature sponsor was Joanne Daly of Morgan Stanley, a longtime member and supporter of the Women’s Club. Event co-chairs Linda Butera Noble and Deb Zepp
coordinated the successful fundraiser, which also featured an extensive variety of food generously donated by local businesses and community partners.

Featured food offerings included oyster donations from Matunuck Oyster Bar, TwoTen
Oyster Bar & Grill, and the Ocean State Seafood Cooperative, along with additional fare from Jersey Mike’s Subs, Narragansett Poke, Gansett Wraps, Surfside Deli, and George’s of Galilee.

One guest remarked, “The meatballs from Arturo Joe’s were outstanding.”

Attendees also participated in a highly anticipated silent auction featuring travel packages, polo match tickets, a wine dinner at the Coast Guard House, Pilates and personal training
experiences, and exclusive wine tastings and dinners.

Participating beverage vendors included Geaber's Liquors, Langworthy Farm Winery, Sakonnet Vineyard, Greenvale Vineyards, Gooseneck Vineyards, Tapped Apple Cidery &
Winery, Tower Hill Brewing, Grey Sail Brewing of Rhode Island, Whalers Brewing Company, and Sons of Liberty Spirits Company.

Funds raised through Bottles in the Bungalow directly support the GFWC Women’s Club of South County’s philanthropic initiatives, scholarships, grants, and community outreach
programs throughout the region.

Mission Statement
The GFWC Women’s Club of South County, a local civic organization, seeks to bring women
of all backgrounds together for philanthropic activities and community service. Our goal is
to provide community support through volunteerism, provision of grants to local non-profit
agencies, and educational scholarships to women in need.
The organization has been a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs since
1962 and has raised and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars while contributing
thousands of volunteer hours in support of the community.
The Club fulfills its mission through volunteer service, fundraising, sponsoring events,
awarding scholarships, and supporting organizations committed to Arts & Culture, Civic
Engagement & Outreach, Education & Libraries, Environment, and Health & Wellness.
