Community Update

Charles B. Despres, 82, of Anthony Street, Coventry, RI, who was the owner of DIP's Radiator Works of Coventry, RI for sixty four years, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born in West Warwick, RI he was the husband of Carolyn A. (Card) Despres. They were married for sixty-two years. He was the son of the late Telesphore and Beulah (Greenhalgh) Despres.

Charles belonged to the Pawtuxet Valley Historical Society. He was influential in erecting a monument at Rice Field, Coventry, RI for two veteran brothers who gave their lives for their country in WWII.

He is survived by five children; Kathleen AM Licciardi, Patricia D. Gamache, Charles E. Despres, Margaret B. Godin and Robert A. Despres, a sister; Eva M. Despres, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a great, great grandson.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your favorite charity.
