Another Week Starts with Snow Day for Kids, Cancellations
Coventry could 10 or more inches of snow by Monday night.

Groundhog Day was last week but it sure feels like we’re reliving it as Monday is shaping up to bring another round of snow and yet another round of closings, cancellations and delays.
It will be the third Monday snowstorm in as many weeks, and the third week to begin with another day off for Coventry schoolchildren.
The National Weather Service is predicting 10 to 14 inches of snow will fall across most of Rhode Island, with the heaviest snow overnight and Monday morning. A Winter Storm Warning will remain in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Road conditions will be treacherous throughout the day Monday, thanks in part to the heavy snow landing on extremely cold road surfaces. Travel “will be slow at best on well treated surfaces,” according to the National Weather Service, and difficult on any unplowed or untreated surfaces.
Trash pickup will operate on a one-day delay this week.

The Coventry Police Department instituted a parking ban on Sunday evening and it will remain in effect through Tuesday.
The Coventry Senior Center will be closed Monday as well.
