Volunteer advocates provide support, information, referrals and safety planning to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and hate crimes at hospitals and police departments throughout Rhode Island. Â Receive 30 hours of training to provide you with the skills, confidence and knowledge that will enable you to work with victims of all ages. Â You must be 18 and have a car. Â There is a particular need for volunteers who are bilingual and able to work with diverse populations. Â Next training begins May 28, 2014. Â Please contact Wendy Allmendinger at 421-4100, ext. 146 or wallmendinger@dayoneri.org.Â
