Bicyclist Hit, Injured By Vehicle In Coventry
Coventry police reminded drivers to be aware of pedestrians, bicyclists and other vehicles on the road during summer months.

COVENTRY, RI — Coventry police are warning drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians to be careful this summer after a bicyclist was injured in a crash on Tuesday evening. The 27-year-old cyclist was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Main Street near Abbotts Crossing Road.
The crash is under investigation by the Coventry Police Department, and anyone who witnessed it is encouraged to call Officer Rebello at 401-826-1100.
The department used the crash as a reminder for drivers to be more aware on roadways, especially during summer months when more pedestrians and bicyclists are on the road. Pedestrians and cyclists, meanwhile, are also encouraged to be aware and "see and be seen." Over the coming months, the department said it will crack down on crosswalk safety, educating both pedestrians and drivers on best practices when crossing the street.
