Come learn about the Rhode Island Fisher Study, a research project to understand how fishers (commonly called ‘fisher cats’ ) travel throughout R.I. with Laken Ganoe, DEM Furbearer Biologist.
Using a combination of camera traps and GPS collars, Ganoe monitored fisher distributions and movements across the state. Field work is now concluded, and Ganoe is presenting the analyses.
In addition, fisher pelts, skulls, and a mounted, taxidermied fisher will be on display.
Free and open to the public. All ages welcome. No registration required. If you'd like a friendly reminder 2 days before the program, you can email Jessica at JCoppa@coventrylibrary.org.
