Forestry for the Birds, with Paul Dolan

Forestry for the Birds, with Paul Dolan

Event Details

Coventry Public Library, 1672 Flat River Rd, Coventry, RI, 02816 (Council Chambers Room)

Join us as we welcome Paul Dolan, retired Deputy State Forester, Scituate Tree Warden, and RI Resource Conservation & Development Area Director, to talk about forestry for birds.

Paul will provide an introduction and overview of the Forestry for Rhode Island’s Birds Project. This is a program that aims to address declining forest songbird populations by creating and implementing demonstration sites and practices to enhance forest songbird habitat throughout Rhode Island.

This includes the Rhode Island Birder’s Dozen, which is made up of twelve forest birds that have been identified by the Rhode Island Woodland Partnership.

A lifelong Forester, Paul Dolan’s goal is to leave the earth a better place by his actions. After years in the private sector as a Consultant Forester, Paul dedicated several years of his professional career to public service and the health of the State of Rhode Island’s forests as Urban and Community Forest Program Coordinator and Deputy State Forester.

Free and open to the public. All are welcome. Brought to you by a collaboration of the Coventry Land Trust and the Coventry Public Library.

No registration required, but if you would like a friendly reminder email two days before the program, let us know you're coming by registering at: https://coventrylibrary.libcal.com/event/17458230
