Car Crashes Into Coventry Apartment Building
Police and fire personnel said they arrived and saw the car through a wall and several feet into the bedroom of one of the apartments.

COVENTRY, RI — A car crashed into an apartment building late Wednesday afternoon, which left the driver trapped inside their vehicle until police and fire could could respond.
The crash happened at the apartment complexes at 210 Woodland Drive. Police and fire personnel said they arrived and saw the car through a wall and several feet into the bedroom of one of the apartments. The fire department then freed the driver from the car.
Police did not release the identity of the driver, but said the driver was a 58-year-old resident of Coventry. The driver was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for what is believed to be non life threatening injuries.

Police said the crash is still under investigation, but early findings suggest the crash may have happened because of medical problems with the driver.
The person living in the struck apartment was not home during the time of the crash, but is currently displaced because of the damage.

The building inspector deemed the rest of the apartment complex safe.
