Connecticut State Police Suspend Search for Missing Teen

The state police announced at 6:55 p.m. on Friday they were suspending the search for Todd Allen.

COVENTRY, RI—Connecticut state police said Friday night they have suspended the search for Todd Allen, 18, of Sterling, Conn.

"CSP is suspending the search," Trooper Kelly Grant said. "Again, if new information is developed they will return.Troopers and detectives continue to investigate."

Allen has not been seen since Dec. 26 when he rode out on his dirt bike.

State Police said Allen left his home at 42 Dixon Road in Sterling, Conn., at approximately 1 p.m. on Dec. 26. He rode out on his red Honda XR100 dirt bike in an unknown direction of travel. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a camouflage sweatshirt and a back pack.

He did send his girl friend a message saying he had crashed his bike and hurt his leg, but state police said their efforts to use his cell phone to find him failed because the phone is either turned off or the battery has been drained.

"Allen is described as a white male, approximately 5’ 10”, 130 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes," police said. "He frequents the Rails to Trails bike path that goes from Sterling into Coventry, as well as the area of Ross Pond.

The environmental police and volunteers are also looking for Allen.
