In addition to the new charges, Montijo also faces charges of delivery of a controlled substance and controlled substance conspiracy from March 2018 that nearly killed a woman.

At the time, Montijo was involved in the sale of a pill that was determined to contain the deadly opioid carfentanyl. The woman who purchased the pill believed it was simply a prescription and overdosed after taking it. The woman was revived and survived. Coventry police continue to search for a second suspect involved in the incident.
