Coventry Man Charged With Fentanyl Possession

COVENTRY, RI — A Coventry man was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl, suboxone and crack cocaine. Police said Kareem Machado, 37, was arrested at his Windsor Park Drive home on April 30.

Coventry police raided Machado's house around 5:45 a.m. and seized fentanyl, suboxone, crack cocaine, an undisclosed amount of cash, a digital scale and other packaging materials.

Machado was arraigned in Kent County District Court on May 1 and charged with possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and suboxone and possession of crack cocaine. In addition, he was presetned as a bail violator on several charges, including a 2018 domestic assault incident involving strangulation. Machado was ordered held without bail at the ACI in Cranston on the new charges.
