Coventry Man Grows Largest North American Pumpkin Ever

The largest pumpkin ever grown in North America tipped the scale at Frerichs Farm in Warren this past weekend, registering a whopping 2,230.5 pounds.

The pumpkin, grown by Ron Wallace from the Greene area of Coventry, is the second-largest pumpkin ever grown in the entire world.

Wallace is no stranger to giant gourds. He held a prior world record when he produced a 2,009 pound pumpkin in 2012.

Wallace said he puts in a lot of hard work and uses his special “Wallace organic wonder fertilizer” to grow his behemoths.

Wallace, a country club manager, can once again proudly claim he is the undisputed Pumpkin King.
