Coventry Man Takes Matters Into His Own Hands, Fills Potholes

Fed up with waiting for someone to address potholes on Centre of New England Boulevard, Seth Kerstetter took matters into his own hands.

COVENTRY, RI — Tired of waiting for someone to fill potholes on Centre of New England Boulevard, a Coventry man took matters into his own hands this past weekend. On Sunday, Seth Kerstetter filled two large potholes after he saw several people complain about getting flat tires and damaging their rims.

"Hey Coventry, we all have our problems, especially financial ones. Let's keep doing what we need to and help where we can," Kerstetter said in a post on Facebook. "I took care of those freaking pot holes today out of my own time and money ... I may not have been born in this town or state for that matter... but this is my home now and this is our town."

Kerstetter posted a photo of two bags of cement next to the large, deep holes, located right next to each other in the lanes heading out of the shopping complex. Because he was acting independently, he unable to close off the road to fill the potholes, leading at least one person to angrily shout at him for blocking the road.
