Coventry Man Wins $1 Million in Foxwoods Slot Tournament

On Friday, Edward O’Brien of Coventry will be celebrating his 50th anniversary with his wife.

And this year, the couple won’t have to worry about putting a few extra appetizers and drinks on the tab.

With all the reasons to celebrate their lives together, the O’Briens now have a million more.

O’Brien walked out of Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn., on Monday a millionaire after winning the grand prize in Foxwoods’ summer-long $1 million Dream Slot Tournament.

“I just hope my wife lets me have $60 of it!” the jubilant million dollar winner said with a laugh. “It’s my wife’s and my 50th anniversary this Friday, so the timing is great!”

O’Brien beat out nearly 500 finalists to claim the grand prize.

A total of $1.5 million was doled out through the promotion, the casino said in a release.
