Coventry Man, Woman Arrested For Scituate Vehicle Break-In

SCITUATE, R.I. -- Scituate Police arrested a Coventry man and woman early Wednesday morning following reports of a car break-in.

Police say they received a call just after 3:30 a.m. from a Coyle Lane resident who reported seeing two male suspects walking away from his vehicles. The lights were on in three of the vehicles.

The caller then followed the two suspects in his own vehicle, and saw one of them get into a blue Ford. He continued to follow the Ford until it crashed in the woods near the intersection of Hope Furnace Road and Matteson Road.

Officers arrived on scene and identified everyone in the vehicle. All were brought back to the police station for questioning. One of the suspects, Justin Arbor, 22, confessed to detectives and was charged with two counts of larceny under $1,500 and conspiracy. Carmen Ruth, 18, was identified as the driver of the vehicle and also faces two counts of larceny under $1,500 and conspiracy. Arbor was arraigned in Third District Couort Wednesday morning and Ruth was released with a summons.

Police expect to make more arrests as the investigation continues. Residents of the area are encouraged to contact police if they have information that could assist with the investigation.
