Coventry Police ID Supected Car Thief

COVENTRY, RI—Police have updated the information about an accident on Lewis Farm Road on Sunday morning. The car, which crashed into a pole around 8:30, was reported stolen from New York, police confirmed. According to witnesses the driver, later identified as Khalif Davis, 23 of Philadelphia. Pennsylvania, ran away. But he was found after a brief search, police said.

Davis was charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle; Possession of Marijuana with intent to deliver; Obstructing an Officer in Execution of Duty; and Driving with Expired License.

He was arraigned at the Coventry Police headquarters and taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions Intake Service Center.
