Coventry Woman Dies After Head-On Accident In NK

COVENTRY, RI — Carol Isacco, 69, of Coventry, has died after she was injured in a head-on collision Saturday on Ten Rod Road in North Kingstown, police said. According to Capt. Paul Barry, the crash happened around 8:33 p.m. Saturday near Himes Street. Isacco's red Elantra collided with a Ford pickup truck driven by Kenneth Derobbio, 38, of North Kingstown. Rescue workers arrived and found both drivers seriously hurt.

The North Kingstown firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove Isacco from her vehicle. She was taken to Kent County Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Derobbio was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

The accident is under investigation, police said.
