Driver Charged with DUI after Flat River Road Crash

A 37-year-old Coventry man is facing drunk driving charges after a single-vehicle crash near Western Coventry Elementary school early Friday morning.

Police said the crash happened right before 2 a.m.

Michael Lombari, of Coventry, along with a passenger, were transported to Kent County Hospital for their injuries sustained in the crash. Both are expected to recover.

Police said the vehicle left the roadway in the area near 4661 Flat River Road.

After an investigation, Lombari was charged with driving under the influence, refusing a chemical test and reckless driving. He was also cited for a motor vehicle violation.

Lombari is due to appear in court at a future date.
