Duplex Fire In Coventry Displaces 7 People, Kills 2 Cats
The American Red Cross is assisting five adults and two children after a duplex fire on Leveillee Street in Coventry.
COVENTRY, RI — A fire at a duplex in Coventry on Tuesday displaced two families and killed two cats, town fire officials said.
Fire officials said they saw flames and smoke billowing from the Leveillee Street home upon arrival. Fire Chief Frank Brown told WPRI 12 it appeared the fire started in the basement, though no appliances were left on. All tenants escaped the fire safely, but two cats died.
