Big Sisters of Rhode Island is honoring its newest members of the Magical Circle tonight in Newport at the annual Abracadabra Ball.
In celebration of now serving both girls and boys, the Big Sisters of Rhode Island Magical Circle includes women and men who are role models for children in the mentoring programs.
This year's honorees include:
Dr. Nancy Carriuolo, president, Rhode Island College
Robert A. DiMuccio, chairman, president and CEO, Amica Insurance
Ronald K. Machtley, president, Bryant University
Gina Raimondo, general treasurer, State of Rhode Island

The Abracadabra Ball hosts an elegant sit-down dinner, live and silent auctions, and an evening of dancing to the Felix Brown Band. The honorary co-chairs are Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Dr. Sandra Whitehouse, with Channel 12 WPRI’s News Anchor Mike Montecalvo serving as master of ceremonies. Barry Nolan of NPR’s “Say What” will be the auctioneer for the evening.
All proceeds from the Ball fund the Big Sisters of Rhode Island mentoring programs.
