Gel’s Kitchen donates $500.00 to Be the Change

Gel's Kitchen donates to local charity

Gel’s Kitchen (located at 1745 Main Street in West Warwick) participated in a RI Lottery competition against eight vendors. Over an eight week time frame, the vendors had to obtain the highest percentage of sales over last year. Gel’s goal was to show everyone that a small business that is only open 7 hours a day except for Fridays can do something like this. With the help of their customers, Gel’s ended up at 101% in lottery sales over last year.

With the winnings, Gel’s Kitchen wanted to make a donation to a charitable organization. They decided to let their customers pick a winner. Over a two week time period, customers had the opportunity to vote for their favorite charity.

Be the Change, a local organization in West Warwick that helps the homeless and impoverished, was the winner.
