Gerald E. DesRoches, 76, of Wakefield Street, West Warwick, RI

Gerald E. DesRoches, 76, of Wakefield Street, West Warwick, RI, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born in Providence, RI, he was the husband of Beverly A. (Jeffrey) DesRoches. They were married for fifty-six years. He was the son of the late Charles V. and Lauretta (Thibeault) DesRoches.

 Gerald was a carpenter for fifty years. He also worked at Electric Boat in Quonset, RI for five years. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus of Cranston, RI, American Legion, Warwick, RI and the VFW Post in Daytona and Lakeland, FL.

 Besides his wife, Gerald is survived by two sons; Gerald V. DesRoches and David P. DesRoches, three daughters; Suzanne M. Marchand, Debra A. O'Brien and Lisa L. Marshall, three brothers; Roger DesRoches, Eugene DesRoches and George DesRoches, a sister; Janice St. Pierre, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother; Charles DesRoches, III and a sister; Thea Grundon.

 A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 5:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A military honors service will be held at 3:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

 In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to the Wounded Warrior Fund, PO Box 51, Lewes, DE 19950. Check can be made payable to "KWVA".
