House Minority Leader Sends Governor A Formal Public Records Request
Rep. Patricia Morgan, R-District 26 Coventry, says she's asked the governor several times for the names, titles and salaries of new hires.

PROVIDENCE, RI — House Minority Leader Patricia Morgan (R-District 26 Coventry, Warwick, West Warwick) is fed up with information delays at the governor's office. On Friday, she submitted an APRA (Access to Public Records Act) request to the office of Governor Gina M. Raimondo. She's asking for the names, titles and salaries of all new hires in the Governor’s Administration from budget years 2015 and 2018.
"More than three months ago I requested this information," Morgan said. "I have followed up with the Governor's staff on a regular basis and have been assured that the data would be forthcoming. Sadly, the 'slow walk' is continuing."
Morgan went on to say the situation is unusual.

"Under previous administrations it was a rarity that legislators needed to submit APRA requests to receive the vital information we need to make good decisions for our constituents," she said. "Sadly, under Governor Raimondo's leadership what was rare has now become a necessity. Even then, compliance is begrudging. We should not forget the Map from 1882 that DOT supplied last year in response to a request for information on the toll bill."
Raimondo's staff will have 10 days to produce the documents, although the time can be extended.
