Indicted For Child Molestation: Coventry Man

COVENTRY, RI — Michael Garcia, age 30, has been indicted by the Kent County Grand Jury, the state Attorney General's office said Wednesday. Garcia is being charged with one count of first degree child molestation and three counts of second degree child molestation. The alleged crimes happened in West Warwick and in Coventry.

"On or about dates between October 31, 2010 and October 31, 2012, Garcia molested a female under the age of 14 in the first degree and second degree," the Attorney General's office said. "It is further alleged that on or about dates between January 1, 2017 and April 21, 2017, Garcia molested the same victim, a female under the age of 14, in the second degree."

Garcia is scheduled to be arraigned in Kent County Superior Court on Aug. 25.
