Superior Court Judge Stern has ordered the liquidation of the Central Coventry Fire Department.
The order came during a hearing at noon Wednesday at Kent County Courthouse.
The court vacated a previous order putting liquidation on hold, paving the way for the fire district to officially begin the liquidation process.
Liquidation shall be complete by May 16.
The court said fire trucks and equipment can be liquidated and sold to pay off debt.
