The Upper and Lower ponds at the Kent County YMCA were reopened to swimming on Monday. The Rhode Island Department of Health said bacteria levels were once again normal.

At this time, Roy Carpenter Beach in South Kingstown is the only beach that is still closed. Both Warwick ponds were closed on August 1 for high bacteria levels.

Beach closure statuses often change day-to-day. For the latest information, call the department's prerecorded beach line at 401-222-2751 or visit the beach closures website.
