Last Minute Holiday Shopping In Coventry

A collection of local retailers with extended holiday hours.

Even the most punctual holiday shoppers sometimes encounter the moment that everyone dreads just days before Christmas: realizing you forgot someone on your shopping list.

With the large retail areas of Warwick and Providence being completely gridlocked with traffic and holiday-crazed shoppers the week of Christmas, residents of Coventry can stick to their home town to grab those last minute gifts.

  • At All Booked Up , located at 799 Tiogue Ave., shoppers can grab books for anyone on their list. The bookstore sells both new and used books in a large variety of genres, including mystery, non-fiction, poetry, young adult, children and more. Mysteries have been the bestseller this year by far, but sales of children's titles, from picture to chapter books have risen during the weeks leading up to Christmas. All Booked Up will be open until 6 p.m. Dec. 23 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
  • For the friend with a sweet tooth, , located at 577 Tiogue Ave., has an abundance of gourmet chocolate treats, including fudge, truffles and their award-winning lollipops. Owner Cynthia Jacobs said the chocolate caramel apples and popcorn crunch have been the best-selling items this season, having sold 500 containers of the savory popcorn in the last two weeks. The store will be open until 7 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. to  2 p.m. on Dec. 24.
  • , located at 978 Tiogue Ave., sells a wide variety of holiday gifts, like Sweenor's Chocolates, holiday decor, ornaments and fresh flowers. Practical gifts such as candles, ornaments and angel figurines have been big sellers recently. Always In Season will be open until 6 p.m. on Dec. 23 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
  • , at 937 Tiogue Ave., has a large collection of country-themed gifts for anyone on your list. Recently, the most popular gift purchases have been Yankee Candles and The Hearthside Collection battery-operated candles priced at $3.99 for the small size and $4.99 for the large.  The shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 23 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 24.
  • The Bead Sting, located at 891 Tiogue Ave., is the perfect place to find jewelry with a personal touch for a loved one. The store sells beads for all occasions from the Ohm, Reflections and Chamilia brands. The Bead Sting will be open until 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 23 and from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
