Lloyd L. Adams, Jr., 58, of Curtis Corner, Wakefield, RI, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at home with his family after battling cancer. Born in Warwick, RI, he was the son of the late Lloyd L., Sr. and Mary (Doherty) Adams.
Lloyd was a jack of all trades and a self employed tractor trailer truck driver for many years. He worked for Raven and Bettez Construction and also worked as a landscaper. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Lloyd lived in Scituate, RI and West Warwick, RI, for most of his life before moving to Connecticut. He loved all sports and it didn’t matter if it was professional, college or even high school. He was a hardcore New England sports fan, watching all the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics or Boston Bruins games. Most of all he enjoyed camping with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two children; Heather L. Harrington and Dustin L. Harrington, four brothers; Christopher, John, Ernest and Michael Adams, four sisters; Maureen Adams, Kathy Zompa, Eileen Peterson-Adams and Judy Cornell-Adams and three grandchildren; Sabrina, Alexandria and Cole.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. A Military Honor Ceremony will follow. Burial will be private.
