Man who Cultivated Relationship with Coventry Teen, 15, Charged with Child Porn Possession
Coventry Police said David M. Allard, 41, had cultivated an inappropriate relationship and has been investigated before.
Two Coventry residents thought something wasn’t right with this picture: an older man parked in a brown car with Massachusetts plates with a female passenger who looked very young.
The same car had been seen six times in the last month at Foster Field.
On Tuesday, police got two calls from residents concerned for the well being of the child.

Police responded to Foster Field a short time later and saw a car matching the description. Inside was David Allard, 41, of 83 Broad St 3F, Cumberland, and a Coventry girl, 15.
Both intitally lied about the girl’s age, said Coventry Police Chief Bryan Volpe. But detectives pressed and “it was determined that Mr. Allard was engaging in an inappropriate relationship with the juvenile female,” Volpe said.

Detectives then got a search warrant for Allard’s phone and searched it for evidence, which has now led to charges of possession of child pornography.
Volpe said “upon speaking with the victim’s parents,” it was determined that Allard has been investigated in the past for similar conduct by Smithfield police as well as police in Plainville, Mass.
The juvenile was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for an evaluation.
Allard was arraigned in Third Division District Court and is being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston as a probation violator.
