Massive Fire Rips Through Vacant Coventry Home

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which has been deemed suspicious.

COVENTRY, R.I. -- A massive fire completely engulfed a Western Coventry house Tuesday night. The state fire marshal is currently investigating the cause of the fire, which is being considered suspicious.

According to the Coventry Police Department, neighbors reported the fire at 10 Lionel Pierson Road just before 7 p.m. The house was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived on scene.

The house was vacant at the time of the fire, having been condemned by the Town Building Inspector in 2018.
