Alice O'Day Carley, 88, of Sunrise Ave., passed peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2015.

Alice O’Day Carley, 88, of Sunrise Ave., passed peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2015. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Carley and the mother of the late Peter M. Carley. Born in Uxbridge, MA, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Bridget (Cunningham) O’Day.

Alice was graduated from Uxbridge High School and Bryant College and was a standout for both women’s basketball teams. She was a dedicated homemaker and employed as an office manager at CCRI in Warwick. She was a long term active member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic church and enthusiastically celebrated her Irish heritage. The Celtics and Red Sox have lost their most avid fan.

She was the mother of Michael O’Day Carley of Coventry, Dennis E. Carley of East Greenwich, Elizabeth M. Carley of West Hartford, CT, Kevin P. Carley of Cranston, Timothy S. Carley of North Kingstown and Kathleen Carley Skwara of Cincinnati, OH. Alice is also survived by 14 grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Agnes DeYoung, Rose Hoard, John O’Day, Martin Francis O’Day, Eleanor Bianchi, Helena Labossiere, Margaret O’Day, Dorothy Zajac and Ruth Hickey.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be (TODAY) Monday, February 16, 2015 at 11:00 am in SS Peter & Paul Church, 48 Highland St., West Warwick, RI 02893. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to SS Peter & Paul Church will be appreciated. Arrangements by IANNOTTI Funeral Home, Coventry.
