Obituary: Gerald T. "Jerry" May, 70, 31-Year Stanley Bostitch Employee

Gerald T. "Jerry" May, 70, of Log Bridge Rd., passed away at Kent Hospital, surrounded by loving family, on Thursday, September 3, 2015.

Gerald T. “Jerry” May, 70, of Log Bridge Rd., passed away at Kent Hospital, surrounded by loving family, on Thursday, September 3, 2015. He was the husband of Lois L. (Oesterle) May for 39 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Roland and Eunice (Dutra) May.

Gerald, a resident of Coventry for 39 years and previously a resident of North Attleborough, was employed at Stanley Bostitch in East Greenwich for 31 years before retiring in 2011. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Jerry was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, skiing, scuba diving, and traveling. He was a certified recreational pilot. Jerry also coached in the Coventry Little League for many years.

He was the father of Debbie (Bill) Leipprandt of Flowery Branch, GA, Jodie (Mark) Barrette, Ed (Regina) Roberts, and Lori (Joe) Lungarelli all of Coventry; grandfather of 10; great-grandfather of 7. He was the brother of William (Betty) May of Coventry, Carl (Sue) May of NC, and Beverly (Ed) Goulet of North Attleborough.

His Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 10 am in the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 9 New London Ave., West Warwick, RI 02893. Military honors to follow. Visiting hours are Monday evening 4 - 7 pm in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Emanuel Lutheran Church will be appreciated.
