A One-Ton Pumpkin Wins Coventry Man First Prize At Topsfield Fair

TOPSFIELD, MA — A Coventry man has won the prize for the heaviest pumpkin at the Topsfield Fair with a record-breaking 2,114-pound pumpkin.

Ron Wallace, of Coventry won his third Topsfield Fair All New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off Friday and took home a prize of more than $8,500. Wallace's other wins came in 2006 and 2009.

Wallace told the Associated Press that the Topsfield competition is one of the top weigh-ins to win.
